Andro and Leroy
Frankie and Charles met while working in early 2018 and shortly after made space in their lives to work together. As solo and ensemble musicians they saw great potential in the addition of live electronic music production to acoustic performances. They imagined the upbeat energy of a band and the intimacy of a duo or soloist combined and set out to make it reality.
Frankie aka Frances Castley had already made a start blending technology into her acoustic folk style live performances as an original artist and had begun studying formally in the field. Charles’ aka Charlie Heart who’s popularity as a “piano man” playing tasteful Jazz/Funk, Rhythm and Blues and Soul classics had held residencies at Golden Age in Surry Hills and the Corner Bar in Rozelle for several years and was grateful for the opportunity to expand.
So it was to be that Frankie and Charles began developing the entertainment concept and specifically tailoring it to Sydney’s popular venues. Together they create the perfect blend of the old and the new, being compared to the likes of Stevie Nicks, James Taylor and Carole King, Hall and Oats, Miley Cyrus, and more! Pre Covid the duo frequently featured at Misfits in Redfern(residency), the Glenmore Hotel at the Rocks, the Winery in Surry Hills, Ravesi’s in Bondi, Bondi Hardware and Opera Bar in Circular Quay, as well as performing at private and corporate events, throughout NSW’s and the ACT.
Through Covid and hard at work developing and constructing a work space in San Souci, Sydney the duo have diversified their business to include Virtual Live Performance on line, music teaching, and writing original music. They are looking forward to Performing regularly in the Live Space soon.
