Born the 10th of August 1966 in Veracruz, Mexico. Started in music and dance in 1975. For three years in a row 1976 -1978, he won 1st place in the National Folklore Dance Competition in Mexico City. His talents as a dancer were recognised as Assistant Director of Folklore Ballet for the Secretary of Public Education in Veracruz Mexico in 1981.

He was a member of the best and highly acclaimed Mexican Folk group of Veracruz Mexico; for ten years, from 1987 -1997 (Named best folk group in Mexico by the union of music and theatre critics).

With this professional group, Victor gave many concerts and performances in respected halls and theatres. Including over 20 performances in the Sydney Opera House between 1992 & 1997. Victor Valdes choose Australia and the city of Sydney as his home town and moved to Sydney in 1998. In the same year he started teaching Latin dance at the Sydney Dance Company for four years.

In 1998 he found the first traditional Mariachi band in Australia and he named Victor Valdes and His Real Mexico Mariachi Band.

As a solo harpist he has given concerts in over 25 countries of 4 continents around the world.

At its core is a Solo harp which is live looped and blended with beats taking influences house music, afro-cuban and jazz. The result is this unique combination of classical harp creating rich harmonious layers, complemented with beats and floating vocals hinting at familiar melodies.

From there you can add bass, keys, percussion & more. One thing you notice with these musicians together is the inherent ability to improvise and adapt, contrasting moods and tempos. A sound which they’ve crafted over the course of a decade.

Bringing their Chilean backgrounds and love of music together, this dynamic duo will have you grooving in your seats. 
Lily Guerrero is a key player in the vibrant Sydney Latin scene. Born in Montreal, raised in Sydney on the South American folklore of her Chilean parents, Lily developed her interest in dance and song from a young age. She is now a versatile performer: she sings; she dances; she plays Cajon, Guitar and Charango. Lily brings her folklore touch to a range of cover material and original compositions.
Andro Martinez from the prestigious Martinez Family and Gang of Brothers. He plays percussion, bass, synths, samples all on the guitar. All brought together by his mastery of looping add the special Latin flavours from Lily and this duo is on fire.

On 11 December 2012, Quality Control Entertainment was invited to organize the entertainment for the wedding of Zoe and Hamish Blake. Set against the backdrop of Wolgan Valley Resort,our own Latin Guitars Duo were invited to play at the during the wedding ceremony followed into a wave of celebrations let by the Co Director of Quality Control Entertainment and brother of the bride Levi 5Star.

“The musicians that played live during the ceremony made me cry, the DJ-ing afterwards made me dance so much I had cramps for days. I went the full spectrum. India Rose first came into the limelight on the hit Channel 7 Show the X Factor, where she sung her way to the final six and established herself as a name in the world of music.

Since her time on the show, India’s passion for singing has taken her across the world, including tours of Egypt, Dubai and the United States.

A vocalist and performer with a unique flavour, Veena mixes Soul, Rnb, Pop and Contemporary Roots and Jazz. Hailing from beach-side Wollongong, Veena began singing long before she made her move to Sydney to pursue her dream. Her sound is hard to just put in one box, her voice has the magic to capture all audiences but her mastership in Soul/Rnb asserts her place as one of the best in the country.

As a session vocalist Veena spent a number of years in the UK where she worked in the studio and live with artists such as Roachford, Basement Jaxx and Soul II Soul, as well as completing vocal sessions for the TV show ‘Misfits’. After touring the UK with the Motown Revue show and becoming a soloist with acclaimed gospel choir Urban Voices Collective (the Olympics, Royal Variety show), Veena decided that it was time to be back in Sydney to continue her musical journey.

Since her recent return to Australia she has worked as full time singer with The Starlettes Girl group, as well as performing live shows and sessions with artists and bands such as Dami Im, Lionel Cole, Love Jonez, Gang Of Brothers, and Enormous Horns to name a few. She has lent her soaring rnb vocals as a soloist with Cafe Of the Gate Of Salvation, as well as regularly performing with the Hot Legs Tribute Show (Rod Stewart and Tina Turner), and recently completed shows as featured vocalist for acclaimed acid jazz outfit DIG.

Amongst all this she’s currently developing her original music, which she has showcased in a number of venues around Sydney with great success.

LUXE STRING QUARTET

Luxe String Quartet consists of some of the finest players in the country, educated from a young age in classical music and all with degrees from the most highly regarded music universities in Australia. Equally well versed in the Classical and Pop genres, they add their touch of magic to any event or performance. In addition to several private parties and corporate events, Luxe have added their musical sparkle to several high-profile events and weddings, as well as touring and performing with some of the biggest artists in the world. A few of which include performing at the 2015 ARIA Awards with Ed Sheeran, an Australia-wide promotional tour with Josh Groban in 2015, as well as several Sunrise and Morning show appearances with International artists.

Hanna Oblikov

Hanna Oblikov

 

Hanna is a classically trained cellist who grew up in a family of musicians and started learning the cello at age 3. She completed her performance degree at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, but always wanted to push the boundaries of her classical training.

She started playing, touring and recording with local pop and rock bands and this eventually lead to performances with some of the biggest artists in the world. Some recent highlights include performing with Ed Sheeran at the 2015 ARIAs, solo acoustic performances with Guy Sebastian on his 2015 Arena tour, acoustic performances with Josh Groban on his 2015 promotional tour, recording an acoustic version of ‘Talk is Cheap’ with Chet Faker and performing it at the 2014 ARIAs, as well as performances with Rod Stewart, Kylie Minogue, Jessica Mauboy, Geri Halliwell, Ronan Keating, The Veronicas, Seal and many more.

Hanna is also a member of ‘Aston’, a classical crossover group who rose to youtube fame in 2010 with their classical cover of ‘Telephone’ by Lady Gaga, which they later performed for the star herself when she was in Sydney, as seen on Perez Hilton’s reality show which aired in the US. Their covers quickly became popular with youtube viewers and artists alike, which led to several successful collaborations and brought their view count to an impressive 30 million worldwide. In 2012 their cover of ‘Without You’ by Usher was used for a special feature performance by the dancers on US ‘Dancing With the Stars’, in a collaboration that was nominated for a Grammy Award.
